Maria Kaliambou, Senior Lector in Modern Greek, was recently elected by the European Commission as Erasmus Student Ambassador to represent Greece in Brussels in 2012. ERASMUS, launched by the European Union in 1987, is an academic exchange program among European universities. For its 25th anniversary, on 2012 the European Commission elected via national agencies former student-participants who demonstrated a distinguished career development. Maria was chosen from Greek participants over the past 25 years to represent Greece. The elected ambassadors of all European countries will be invited to the upcoming Erasmus events in 2012 in Brussels.
