Julia Titus, Senior Lector in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, has published a new course book through Yale University Press. The book consists of an annotated reader of Dostoyevsky’s short story The Meek One. The book, intended for intermediate and advanced Russian students, employs glosses appearing next to the Russian text to provide both English equivalents and essential grammatical information and related root forms. The book also contains a biography of Dostoyevsky, cultural, historic and linguistic commentary, and an extensive section with discussion questions, vocabulary reviews, exercises and quizzes and other oral and written activities. The book is beautifully illustrated with drawings by Kristen Robinson. You can purchase the book from Yale University Press direct or from assorted other online booksellers.
